William R. "Bill" Zellars Obituary (1931 - 2017)

William R. Bill Zellars 85, of Mt. Zion IL passed away at 5:08 p.m., Thursday, April 13, 2017, in St. Marys Hospital. A memorial service to celebrate Bills life will be held at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday morning at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church or the Alzheimers Foundation. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com. Bill was born April 19, 1931, in Moberly, MO the son of Fred and Edna (Burton) Zellars. He married Janet Goodpaster on October 4, 1957. He was a retired building contractor and owner of Zellars Enterprises. He attended Calvary Baptist Church. Bill had formerly served on the Mt. Zion School Board, was a member of the Mt. Zion Lions Club and was an avid sport fan. He enjoyed rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. Surviving is his wife: Janet of Mt. Zion, children: Judee Paine and her husband Jim of Beaumont, CA, Dave Zellars and his wife Luanne of Mt. Zion, IL and Susie Minix and her husband Dave of Mt. Zion; sister: Freddie Rudolph of Moline, IL; eight grandchildren: Crystal, Austin, Leslie, Lindsey, Andi, Niki, Nicole, and Michael and great-grandchildren: Tanner, Wesley, Amelia, Josie, Carter, Nolan, Drake, Roman, and Palmer. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law: Dick Rudolph.
