Wallace M Schwitek Obituary (1934 - 2018)

Wallace M. Schwitek, 83, of Decatur passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. Wallace was born on April 16, 1934 in Decatur, IL the son of Wilbert F. and Louise (Gollembeck) Schwitek. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church since 1948. He graduated from Decatur High School in 1952. He then proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He worked for the railroad and known as "Wabash Wally" to all who he worked with. He later retired from A.D.M. He was a member of the United Paperworkers International Union. Wallace was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Surviving are his adopted sons: Sean Suhl and Todd Suhl both of Decatur, IL; He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Wallace's wishes for his cremation are being arranged by Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com.
