Troy Eugene McCoy Obituary (1922 - 2019)

Troy Eugene McCoy, 97, of Decatur, IL passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019. A service to honor and celebrate Troy's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service. Troy will be laid to rest in Point Pleasant Cemetery. Troy was born on March 9, 1922 in Argenta, IL, the son of John and Myrtle (Turpin) McCoy. He married Alice Juanita Hector on March 22, 1947. She preceded him in death on December 31, 2009. Troy proudly served in the United States Army. He worked as a carpenter with his brother Kenneth and also worked at Mississippi Valley Structural Steel Co., Burks Pumps and farmed for a while in Brownstown, IL. Troy enjoyed hunting. Troy is survived by his children: Troy R. (Michele) McCoy of Decatur, IL and Diana Caryl of Quapaw, OK; 7 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and nine brothers and sisters.
