Shelby Jean Knoll Obituary (1936 - 2012)

Shelby Jean Knoll, 75 of Decatur, formerly of El Paso, passed away at 10:37 a.m., Monday October 1, 2012 in St. Mary's Hospital. A service to celebrate Shelby's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in a private family burial service to be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Gift of Life Transplant House at the Mayo Clinic. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com. Shelby was born November 22, 1936 in Roanoke, IL the daughter of Floyd and Lulu (Kauffman) Kenyon. She married Cletus Knoll on April 3, 1955. He preceded her in death on January 30, 1993. She was a retired secretary from the Frankfort School District #157C. Shelby was a Master Gardener and belonged to the Local Garden Club. She loved cooking and was also an avid reader. Her time spent with family and friends was the most important part of her life. Surviving are her children: Larry Knoll and his wife Brenda of Leadville, CO, Mary Beth Verhelst and her husband Tim of Anchorage, AK, Ron Knoll and his wife Lorraine of Flagstaff, AZ, Don Knoll and his wife Kathy of Eureka, IL, Sonya Woodrum and her husband Greg of Mt. Zion, IL, Jayne Stuckel and her husband Matt of El Paso, IL; brother: Franklin Kenyon of Roanoke, IL; sisters: Lois Jazo of Pawnee, IL, Edith Jordan and her husband Bob of Blaine, ME, Mary Ann Beyers of Manville, IL; grandchildren: Alex, Chelsea, Jonathan, Stephen, Shelby, Zachary, Jessica, Clay, Kaitlyn, Jay, Sam, and Joe. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister: Donna and granddaughter: Abigail.
