Robert "Bob/Woody" G. Woodworth Obituary (1923 - 2015)

Robert "Bob/Woody" G. Woodworth 92, of Decatur, IL went to be with his Lord on Thursday, December 10, 2015, in Heartland Health Care Center. A service to celebrate Bob's life will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion, with visitation 5:00 -7:00 p.m., Monday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery in Long Creek with military honors provided by the Macon County Honor Guard and the US Army Honors Team. Memorials may be made to Moundford Free Methodist Church or Harbor Light Hospice Group. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawsonwikoff.com. Bob was born in St. Joseph, MI on September 30, 1923, the son of Glenn Conklin and Minnie Ketler. He was adopted by Ernest and Bertha Woodworth as an infant. Bob served in the US Army during W.W. II. He married Lois Eileen Payne on March 8, 1947, in Coffeen, IL. She preceded him in death in 2000. He was a long standing member of the Free Methodist Faith and attended Moundford Free Methodist Church. He loved his Lord and was a very humble servant. Bob worked in Prove Design at Caterpillar in Decatur, IL for 30 years. He enjoyed 30 years of retirement before his death. He was a member of the UAW Local #751. Bob loved gardening and woodworking. He was very proud of his bountiful harvests and loved showing off his 35 pound watermelons and huge sweet potatoes. Surviving are his sons: Kenneth D. and wife Cheryl of Decatur; Ronald D. and wife Diana of Cross Plains, TN. Grandchildren: Camie Engels and her husband Doug of Monroe, WI; Kristen Kim and her husband Chong of Houston, TX, Amanda Woodworth of Mt. Zion, and Valerie Waggoner and her husband Tim of Smyrna, TN. Great grandchildren: Macie Engels, Brenna Engels, Isabella Woodworth, Madilynn Woodworth, and Nathan Waggoner. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother, and three sisters.
