Rickey E Wall Obituary (1950 - 2012)

Rickey Eugene Wall 62, of Mt. Zion, made his transition at 11:35 p.m., Thursday, December 27, 2012, in his mother's home. A service to celebrate Rickey's life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion with Rev. Joel Stevenor and Rev. Dan Spruell co-officiating. He will be laid to rest in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Rickey was born March 1, 1950, in Decatur, the son of Albert Eugene and Barbara (Myers) Wall. He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of the Local #965 Operating Engineers in Springfield, IL for 44 years. Ricky was a member of the N.R.A. (National Rifle Association) and loved hunting and fishing with his grandchildren. He married Beverly Stanley on December 28, 1988. Rickey leaves behind his wife: Beverly, mother: Barbara Wall; son: Rickey Wall and his wife Krishna of Annapolis, MD; step children: Melissa Stanley of Beaufort, SC and Kevin Stanley of Willowick OH; four brothers: Randy Wall of Washington, IL, Rodney Wall and his wife Cheri of Decatur, Raymond Wall and his wife Renee of Dallas, TX, and Robin Wall and his wife Lisa of Edinburgh, IL; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, seventeen nieces and nephews, nine great-nieces and great-nephews, twelve cousins; aunts: Estaleen D. Earthal of Orange City, FL and Roberta Brown and her husband Bob of Decatur; Best Friends: Jeff Largent of Decatur, Danny Allard of Decatur, and Greg Cleary of Macon. He was preceded in death by his father, one son, and grandparents. The family wishes to extend special thanks to DMH Hospice for all their care and compassion.
