Priscilla J Ashby Obituary (1936 - 2013)

Priscilla J. Ashby 77, of Mt. Zion, passed away at 6:06 p.m., May 5, 2013, in Decatur Memorial Hospital with her family by her side. A service to celebrate Priscilla's life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 9, 2013, in Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning until service time. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Barnes Jewish Children's Hospital in memory of Blake Ashby or to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, or to American Cancer Society. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com. Priscilla was born February 9, 1936, in Chicago, IL the daughter of Andrew and Pearl (Sebok) Toth. She married Ronald Ashby on January 2, 1960. She retired in 1997 from ADM as a Key Punch Operator. Priscilla enjoyed roller skating in her younger years, bowling and scrap-booking. She was an avid NASCAR fan and cheered for her favorite drivers Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. Her greatest joys came from spending time with her grandchildren and traveling to Epcot. Surviving is her husband: Ronald Sr. of Mt. Zion; sons: Ronald Ashby Jr. and his wife Gina of Edwardsville, IL and Curt Ashby and his wife Dianna of Mt. Zion; daughter: Sherry Quinlan of Mt. Zion; mother-in-law: Dorothy Ashby-Parrish of Mt. Zion; grandchildren: Morgan Ashby, Claire Ashby, and Dalton Quinlan; brother: David Toth and his wife Barbara of Highland, IN; sister-in-law: Carleen Parrish of Mt. Zion. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister-in-law, and her grandson: Blake. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Perry Guaglianone, the staff of Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois, and to the nurses and staff of Decatur Memorial Hospital for all the care and compassion shown to Priscilla and them during her illness.
