Pearl Richards Obituary (1926 - 2013)

Pearl Richards, 87, of Decatur, went home to be with Lord Jesus, Friday, September 6, 2013. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. and the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Dawson and Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home. Pearl was born on June 26, 1926, in Decatur Illinois, daughter of Victor and Jane Peacher. She married Harold Richards on July 18, 1944. Pearl was a wonderful and loving mother of seven children. Daughters, Sharon Walker, Wilma Tortorice and husband Joe, Kathy Ring and husband Stephen, all of Decatur; Robin Curry and husband James of Fairview Heights, IL; sons, Harold E. (Bud) Richards and wife Carolyn of Eldon, MO; Marty Richards and wife Hilda of Wiley, TX; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Richards, one son Todd Richards, two granddaughters, Ann Tortorice and Sherry Richards, sister Ruth Silkwood and brother Buzz Peacher Pearl was loved by everyone who knew her and will be remembered as a sweet and kind-hearted woman. Oh, how she will be missed! The family would like to thank the staff, nurses, and CNAs at DMH on 4100 for their exceptional care, and nurses and CNAs at Fairhaven Christian Nursing home.
