Norman L. "Buck" McCoy Obituary (1935 - 2015)

Norman L. "Buck" McCoy 80, of Mt. Zion, passed away at 8:18 p.m., Saturday, October 24, 2015, in Decatur Memorial Hospital. A service to celebrate Bucks life will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion with Rev. Tony Paulson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon until service time. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Zion Fire Department. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com. Buck was born October 14, 1935, in Lintner, IL the son of Hubert L. and Wanetta (Duncan) McCoy. He married Loretta A. Usinger in 1955. She preceded him in death on February 5, 2006. Buck farmed in the Mt. Zion area all of his life. He also retired from Caterpillar as a machinist and had belonged to the UAW #751. He was affiliated with the Long Creek United Methodist Church. Buck enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving are his daughters: Kathy Byrum of Mt. Zion and Cindy McCoy of Dalton City, IL; grandsons: Randy L. McCoy and his wife Rebecca of Mt. Zion and Kyle L. McCoy and his wife Adena of Mt. Zion; great-granddaughter: Megan Ann McCoy of Mt. Zion; brother: Kenneth L. "Vern" McCoy of Decatur; sisters: Irene Samples and her husband Owen of Decatur and Ilene Henrichsmeyer and her husband Larry of Mt. Pulaski. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and sister: Imogene.
