Michael D. Queary Sr., 50, of Decatur, passed away at 7:34 a.m., Friday August 29, 2014 in his residence. A Memorial Mass to celebrate Mike's life will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 4, 2014. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, September 3, 2014, at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. A vigil Prayer service will be held at 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Mike's memory to the Michael Queary Benefit Account c/o Land of Lincoln Credit Union. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com. Mike was born October 8, 1963, in Macon County, IL the son of Robert and Lucille (Humphrey) Queary. He married Tami Duncan. He remarried Shelli Sims. He later remarried Lori (Crist) Reeves on May 19, 2012. Mike was retired from Decatur Memorial Hospital. He formerly owned and operated Give a Dog a Bone. Mike was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He was extremely involved as a volunteer for the Decatur Celebration. Mike also was involved in coaching youth sports and was the former coach of the Red Bird Rookies. He was an active parent with Mt. Zion Show Choirs. Surviving is his wife: Lori of Decatur; children: Michael D. Queary Jr. and his wife Brittany, Matthew R. Queary and his fiance Kaelee Karch, Brittany Sims, Katlynn Sims, Jessica Poor and her fianc Nate Neuses, and Ben Reeves and his fiance Miranda Chandler all of Decatur; brother: Don Queary of Maroa; sisters: Barb Queary and Lori Baker and her husband Kenny all of Decatur; grandsons: Laken William Queary and Roger William James Poor; special friends: Dean and Sandy Severe of Decatur; special canines: Maggie and Jewel. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson: Brandon Poor.
