Marion Edward "Ed" Judge Obituary (1936 - 2015)

Marion Edward "Ed" Judge, 78, of Macon, IL passed away at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at McKinley Court. A service to celebrate Ed's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Macon. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Ed will be laid to rest next to his wife Beverly in South Macon Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the American Heart Association. Ed was born on July 21, 1936 in Farmer City, IL, the son of Lincoln Albert and Sylvia Olive (Gawthorp) Judge. He was a graduate of East Richland High School in Olney, IL. He proudly served in the United States Army. He retired in 1996 from Caterpillar Tractor Co. after 30 years of service. He then became a bus driver for Meridian School District for many years. Ed was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and enjoyed hunting and coached youth baseball for over 40 years. He married Beverly Jean Morthland in August of 1973. She preceded him in death on March 8, 2004. Ed is survived by his children: Robert (Pam) Erwin of Decatur, IL, Robert Gene (Marla) Judge of Illiopolis, IL, Charles Kelly (Karen) Erwin of Arkansas, Sonja Gragg of Springfield, IL and Rebecca Sims of Macon, IL; brothers: Donald (Sharon) Judge of Olney, IL and Richard (Violet) Judge of Parkersburg, IL; sister: Elaine Culpepper of Olney, IL; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers: Carroll Judge and Robert Judge.
