Marie Catherine Adcock 90, of Mt. Zion, IL passed away at 3:56 p.m, Wednesday, December 19, 2018, in St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, IL. A service celebrating Marie's life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 28, 2018, at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday evening, December 27, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Marie was born May 18, 1928, in Clinton, IL the daughter of Edward A. and Francis (Ehrhart) Ernst. She was raised beginning at age nine by her uncle and aunt: James and Lois Banfield. She married Kenneth Adcock on May 6, 1950. He preceded her in death on February 13, 2000. She was a member of Lovington United Methodist Church and was a 50 year plus member of the Order of Eastern Star, Tuscola Chapter #44. She was a homemaker and enjoyed being a farmer's wife. Surviving are her special niece: Jodie Adcock Bauer of Midlothian, IL; special nephew: Jeff Adcock of Crestwood, IL; great nephew: Ryan (Caprice) Bauer of Frankfurt, IL; great-niece: Alyssa (Mark) Hansen of Hoffman Estates, IL; special cousins: David and Barbara Banfield of Decatur: brother: Clarence (Patty) Ernst of Calera, AL; brother-in-law: Arthur Adcock of California, and sister-in-law: Jean Patrick of Mt. Zion. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers: Edward Ernst and John Ernst, and special great nephew: Nathaniel Bauer.93
