MJ "Bill" Ryherd Obituary (1935 - 2016)

M. J. "Bill" Ryherd 80, of Mt. Zion, IL passed away at 11:30 p.m., Saturday, January 9, 2016, in his residence. In keeping with M.J.'s wishes no formal services will be held. Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com. M.J. was born November 18, 1935, in Gamaliel, KY the son of Herman and Nancy (Marsh) Ryherd. He had served in the US Army and was a Korean War veteran. He married Frances Irene Jendry on December 12, 1959. She preceded him in death on February 22, 2011. He retired from the Norfolk & Southern Railroad as a Maintenance Supervisor having begun his career with the Wabash Railroad. Surviving are his sons: Mitchell D. Ryherd of Mt. Zion and Gregory S. Ryherd and his wife Lisa of Mt. Zion; grandsons: Nicholas Ryherd of Mattoon and Richard Ryherd and his wife Kristie of Quincy, IL; great granddaughter: Riley Ryherd of Quincy, IL; sisters: Trudy Glosser of Decatur, Sue Townsend and her husband Brian of Decatur, and Betty Ryherd of Decatur; brother: LeRoy Ryherd and his wife Nancy of Mt. Zion. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and two brothers: Samuel and Guy.
