LeeRoy Winings Obituary (1940 - 2016)

LeeRoy Winings, 75, of rural Bethany passed away on Sunday (Mar. 6, 2016) in his residence. LeeRoy was born on March 21, 1940 in Decatur, IL the son of Virgil and Dollie (Johnson) Winings. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married Nancy Stockdale and she preceded him in death in 2014. LeeRoy worked as a welder for Green Valley Manufacturing. LeeRoy loved the outdoors and even built box kites and enjoyed flying them. He was quite the handyman and could build and fix anything. LeeRoy also held several U.S. Patents. Surviving are his children: Roy (Jamie) Winings of Bethany, IL; granddaughter: Brooklyn Stephania Winings; two brothers: Richard F. Winings of Tennesee and Robert W. Winings of Bethany, IL; and LeeRoys extended family Jamie's mother and father: Richard (Mimi) Imbordino of Lombard, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and his sister, Mary Bricker (Sept. 24, 2015). LeeRoy's family is continuing with his wishes for cremation and no formal services until they have Military Rites conducted at the family residence in June.
