Kenneth L. Howard Obituary (1943 - 2015)

Kenneth L. Howard 72, of Tavares, FL, formerly of Decatur, IL passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015. Services to celebrate Kenneth's life will begin with a visitation at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a vigil prayer service at 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 14, 2015, at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at Point Pleasant Cemetery, Long Creek, IL with military honors provided by the Macon County Honor Guard and the US Army Honors Team. Kenneth was born August 1, 1943, in Taylorville, IL and moved to Tavares, FL in 2003 from Decatur, IL. He married Paulette Krehel on May 22, 1965. She preceded him in death on October 29, 2001. He was a retired safety director, having worked for Firestone and Bodine Electric. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during Vietnam. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Mt. Dora, FL and was a former member of Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, in Mt. Zion, IL. Kenneth was a member of the Patriot Guard Riders. Surviving is his daughter: Jennifer (Jeff) Waalewyn of Clermont, FL; grandchildren: Anna Waalewyn and Reagan Waalewyn of Clermont, FL; two brothers; and several loving in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Dorothy Howard; and his loving wife, Paulette Howard.
