Judith Ann Newlin Obituary (1944 - 2022)

DO TO SEVERE WEATHER CONDITIONS THE SERVICES FOR JUDI ARE BEING POSTPONED UNTIL SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2022 Judith Ann "Judi" Newlin 78, of Mt. Zion, IL passed away at 11:15 a.m., Friday, January 28, 2022, in her residence. A service to celebrate Judi's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., Thursday morning until service time. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or Alzheimer's Association, or Susan G. Komen Foundation. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at dawson-wikoff.com. Judi was born January 19, 1944, in Decatur, IL the daughter of Herbert Vincent and Aileen (Dickson) Holley. She married the love of her life Delbert "Deleene" Newlin on October 21, 1967. He preceded her in death on September 19, 1999. Judi worked for Woollen, Brown, and Hawkins Attorneys at Law, Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, and retired as the manager of the Mt. Zion Country Market (Green Oil). She was a member of the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church, enjoyed traveling with Timi's Tours, watching the Chicago Bears football and Illini Basketball teams even though they were often a disappointment. She was a faithful fan. Surviving is her son: Marc Newlin of Mt. Zion; granddaughters and the light of her life: Taryn Newlin and Logan Newlin both of Decatur. Judi was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister: Sandy and her brother: Herby.
