Joseph S. Tortorice 68, of Decatur, passed away at 8:43 a.m., September 20, 2013 in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the Macon County Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Timothy Lane officiating. The family is requesting casual attire for his services. Military honors will be provided by the U. S. Marine Corps. Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion is assisting the family with services. Joe was born March 18, 1945, in Buffalo, N.Y. the son of Joseph S. and Betty (Perkins) Tortorice. He married Wilma Richards on September 15, 1967. He worked as a union millwright and was a member of local #1051. He served in the US Marine Corps and was a Vietnam veteran and was a recipient of the Purple Heart Award. Surviving is his wife: Wilma of Decatur; sons: Joe Tortorice and his wife Laura of Decatur and Dennis Tortorice of Decatur; sisters: Becky Flanders and her husband John, Tammy Jones and her husband Jim, and Terry Lane and her husband Timothy; eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Ann and brother: Dennis.
