James W. "Bill" Gunnels 67, of Decatur, IL passed away at 8:51 a.m., Monday, May 18, 2015, in his residence. In keeping with Bill's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Bill was born October 28, 1947, in Canton, IL the son of James F. and Harriet (Reynolds) Gunnels. He married Jacqueline A Vest on July 31, 1965. Bill retired from Caterpillar. He was an avid pigeon racer and was a former member of the Decatur/Macon County Racing Pigeon Club. He was talented carpenter. Bill also enjoyed fishing and riding his Harley. Surviving is his wife Jackie of Decatur; son: William Raymond "Billy" Gunnels of Decatur; daughter: Christina "Tina" Huff and her husband Bill of Pembroke Pines, FL; brother: Jon Gunnels and his wife Pat of Evansville, IN; sister-in-law: Mary Gunnels of Decatur; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother: Mike.
