Hughie Dail Craft Obituary (1942 - 2021)

Hughie Dail Craft, 79, of Blue Mound, IL passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021 at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL. A service to honor and celebrate Hughie's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 26, 2021 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Blue Mound. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service. Hughie will be laid to rest in Wright Cemetery, Findlay, IL. Hughie was born on July 30, 1942 in Leslie, AR, the son of Danis and Mary (Woodworth) Craft. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, serving eight years in Michigan and one year in Vietnam. He married Bonnie Lofland on October 19, 1963. She preceded him in death on June 24, 2011. He was a very devoted husband to Bonnie for 50 years. Hughie retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company after 30 years of service. He enjoyed playing guitars, country music, dancing, watching old westerns, riding his motorcycle in his younger days, tinkering with cars, tractors and lawn mowers, cutting firewood, planting trees, gardening, farming, fishing, spending time with his family and telling jokes. Hughie adored his grandchildren. Hughie is survived by his son: Darrell (Rhonda) Craft; brother: Delmar Craft; sister: Neledene Carlock; grandsons: David (Sarah) Craft and Jeremy Craft; great grandchildren: Kylee, Wyatt, Lucy, Gage, Landon, Dezaree, Alliyah and Ryan; sister-in-law: Janet Lofland; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son: Joe Craft, brother: Jimmy Craft, sisters: Alene Harper and Marie Hubbard.
