Hildred Wantland 102, of Macon, IL died at 3:44 p.m., Monday, June 20, 2022 in St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, IL, surrounded by her family and friends. A service to celebrate Hildred's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 27, 2022, at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Macon, IL. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in the South Macon Township Cemetery. Hildred was born March 14, 1920, in Ramsey, IL the daughter of Joseph F. and Loka W. (Whitten) Callison. She married James C. "Jeff" Wantland on February 14, 1941. He preceded her in death on November 16, 2015. Hildred was retired from Kemper Insurance Company. She was a member of the Macon United Methodist Church. Surviving is her nephew: Richard Callison and his wife Sandra; niece: Candace Frye and her husband Mark of Illinois; great nephew: Eric Callison and his wife: Nicole of Edwardsville, IL; great niece: Madelyn Frye; great-great nephew: Graham Callison. Hildred was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother: Arthur Callison, one nephew, and one niece.
