Helen F. Askew Obituary (1925 - 2019)

Helen F. Askew, 94, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2019 at St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur. Helen was born March 18, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Bruno and Helen (Walters) Ossowski. She was a homemaker and former member of Rock Springs Church of God. Helen married James Askew July 27, 1946. He preceded her in death September 22, 2007. Helen is survived by her children James A. Askew Jr. and wife Gloria of Wadsworth, Vince E. Askew of Decatur, Mark A. Askew and wife Sun Cha of Colonial Heights, Virginia, and Judith A. Askew of Decatur, and three grandchildren Helen is preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, one sister and daughter Donna M. Askew. Services to celebrate Helen's life will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at the First Church of God, 301 W State St. Lovington, with Pastor Rodney Houser officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial to follow in Cerro Gordo Township Cemetery.
