Glenda Sue Deering Obituary (1945 - 2015)

Glenda Sue Deering, 70, of Decatur, IL passed away at 12:20 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. A service to celebrate Glenda's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Dawson & Wikoff North Chapel. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service. Glenda will be laid to rest in Macon County Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Decatur Memorial Hospital. Glenda was born on January 8, 1945 in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Harry and Cleo Threlkeld. She was a graduate of Pana High School. Glenda married Gene Deering in 1983. He preceded her in death on March 26, 2013. She worked for First National Bank of Decatur/Busey Bank for many years. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Glenda enjoyed working puzzles, crossword puzzles, gardening, camping with her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed writing poetry, having several published. Glenda is survived by her sons: Dennis (Dawne) Stahulak of Assumption, IL, Rodney (Nami) Stahulak of Okinawa, Japan and James Stahulak of Des Moines, IA; sisters: Ginger (Jack) Young of Harristown, IL and Sherrie (John) Funk of Decatur, IL; grandchildren: Shawn Stahulak, Shane Stahulak, Nicole Stahulak, Melissa Stahulak, Emily Stahulak, Alexis Stahulak, Lili Stahulak and Ashton Boyer. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother: Harry Threlkeld and her sister: Delores Powell.
