Gerald Richard St. Pierre Obituary (1928 - 2018)

Gerald Richard St. Pierre Jr. 89, of Mt. Zion, IL passed away at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 11, 2018, in Fair Havens Christian Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Mt. Zion Township Cemetery with Reverend Robert Bruer officiating. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church. Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion is assisting the family with services. Gerald was born September 17, 1928, in Decatur, IL the son of Gerald R. and Helen (Shannon) St. Pierre Sr. He married Doris Jean Bean on October 20, 1948. Gerald retired as a Supervisor at A.E. Staley Company after thirty-eight years of service. He was a charter member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church. Gerald was an avid gardener having produced vegetables for many years in his Main Street garden. Gerald greatest joy was his family. Surviving are his wife: Doris of Mt. Zion, sons: Roger St. Pierre (Karen) and Jerry St. Pierre (Nancy) all of Decatur; daughter: Vickie Hanneken (Jerry) of Mt. Zion; brothers: Charles St. Pierre (Mary) of Monroe, IA and Terry St. Pierre (Cindy) of Unionville, MO; sisters: Karen Lange (Larry) of Macon and Sharon Petticord of Irving, IL; sisters-in-law: Thelma St. Pierre of Fairhope, AL and Ramona St. Pierre of Cerro Gordo, IL; six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren also survive.
