Gerald L. Crackel Obituary (1941 - 2018)

Gerald L. Crackel, 76, of Blue Mound, IL passed away on Monday, September 10, 2018 in his residence. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Blue Mound. Gerald will be laid to rest at a later date in Dillman Cemetery, Sailor Springs, IL. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Blue Mound American Legion. Gerald was born on November 29, 1941 in Flora, IL, the son of Roland and Ruth (Patridge) Crackel. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War with the Combat Engineers. Gerald was a truck driver for over 40 years. He was a member of the Blue Mound United Methodist Church and the Blue Mound American Legion. He was a craftsman and enjoyed woodworking, the outdoors, hunting and traveling. Gerald is survived by his sons: Phillip (Jeanette) Crackel of Blue Mound, IL and Jared Crackel of Decatur, IL; granddaughters: Alexandra Crackel, Jessica Crackel and Heather Crackel. He was preceded in death by his parents.
