George A. Krohn Obituary (1942 - 2018)

George A. Krohn 76, of Mt. Zion, IL passed away at 8:17 a.m., Friday, April 6, 2018, in St. Mary's Hospital. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2018, in the Mt. Zion Township Cemetery with military honors provided by the Macon County Honor Guard and the US Marine Corps Honor Team. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Memorials may be directed to the family. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson- wikoff.com. George was born January 5, 1942, in Decatur, IL the son of Virgil and Margaret (Wiley) Richards. He served his country in the US Marine Corps. George married Lynette F. Lanter on September 30, 1967. He retired from AW Cash Valve Company. George had formerly been a member of the Mt. Zion Fire Department and had worked as an EMT for Decatur Ambulance Service. He enjoyed many outdoor activities. He was a member of the Oreana Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife: Lynn of Mt. Zion; children: Tamarra Lanter of Keystone Heights, FL, Tracy Rowe (Greg) of Livonia, MO and Cindi Oros of Mt. Zion; brother: John Krohn (Mary) of Bethany; sister: Leota Hurst of Long Creek; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive. George was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two great-grandchildren.
