Gail E. Lamb Obituary (1954 - 2017)

Gail E. Lamb, 62, of Decatur passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017. A service to celebrate and honor Gails life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in Gails memory to GT Church. Gail was born on May 31, 1954 in Rantoul, IL the daughter of Jerry and Mildred A. (Taylor) Jones, Sr. Gail devoted her later life to Christ and was a devoted member of GT Church. She was a devoted nurse and caregiver most recently working at Heritage Manor in Mt. Zion, IL working as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was also a member of Narcotics Anonymous and an active sponsor for her friends in the support group which she considered her family. Gail was full of life, love, laughter and joy. Surviving is her son, Darrian Lamb, Sr.; four grandchildren: Darrian Lamb, Jr., Dariana Lamb, Ladryon Lamb and Kalen Lamb; sister: Debra A. Evans; two brothers: Jerry D. (Tiffany) Jones and Ricky P. Jones all of Decatur; and a host of nieces, nephews and special cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents: Jerry and Mildred Jones, Sr., daughter: Yauna Lamb, sister: Peggy Jones-Mabon, ex-husband: Marlon Lamb and her special friend of 15 years, Dan Maher.
