Ethan Wesley Kitchens Obituary (2010 - 2018)

Ethan Wesley Kitchens, 7, of Decatur, IL passed away Friday, August 3, 2018, at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL. A service to celebrate Ethan's life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 9, 2018, at St. John's Episcopal Church, Decatur. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. The family suggests wearing anything Blue, Ethan's favorite color, for services. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Ethan's memory to the RISE Program c/o Harris Elementary School, or Independence Point c/o Macon Resources Inc. He was enrolled to start 2nd grade at Harris Elementary School. He had previously attended Parsons Elementary School. He was a member of GT Church. Ethan was blessed to be a part of Special Blessings support group. He participated in Releve Dance Program at Studio B Dance School. Ethan had a love for trains and animals especially his dog Shiloh. He shared a special bond with his cousin: Lexie. Surviving are his parents: Tyler and Rebecca Kitchens of Decatur; sister: Cadence Kitchens of Decatur; paternal grandparents: Troy and Tammy Kitchens of Rock Island, TN; maternal grandfather: John Henry of Plainview; paternal great-grandparents: Ronald and Jean Kitchens of Oreana; aunts and uncles: Joe Kitchens (Holly) of Warrenville, Jesse Brewer (Amanda) of Springfield, Brandon Kitchens (Jamie) of Shreveport, LA, Samantha Wright (Aaron) of Decatur, Johanna Morgan (Jimmy) of Columbiana, AL, Jennie Bloom (Mark) of Ames, IA, and Fiona Carrell of Chatham; many loving cousins also survive. Ethan was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, paternal and maternal great-grandparents and his cousin: Sarah.
