Ernest E Meador Obituary (1932 - 2018)

Ernest E. "Ernie" Meador 85, of Decatur, IL passed away at 8:35 p.m., Saturday July 7, 2018, in Imboden Creek Living Center. A service to celebrate Ernie's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Dawson & Wikoff North Chapel. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning until service time. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Township Cemetery, Mt. Zion with military honors provided by the Macon County Honor Guard and the US Navy Honors Team. Memorials may be directed to Imboden Creek Living Center. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com. Ernie was born August 7, 1932, in Decatur, IL the son of Ashley and Dora (Woodward) Meador. He served in the US Navy and was a Korean War Veteran. Ernie was a 1966 graduate of Millikin University. He retired as a chemist having worked from AE Staley Manufacturing Company and for Lauhoff in Danville, IL. He married Beverly J. Minnis on August 27, 1956. Surviving is his wife: Beverly of Decatur; children: Terry Ripple of Decatur, Lynn Meador of Brownsburg, IN, Valerie Wells(Mark) of Mt. Zion, Dale Meador (Wendy) of Downers Grove, IL and Phil Meador of Bolingbrook, IL; fourteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his daughter: Merry, five brothers and one sister.
