Dewey D. Sharp Obituary (1941 - 2018)

Dewey D. Sharp, 76, of Blue Mound, IL passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018 in his residence. As per Dewey's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Blue Mound is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Cancer Care Center of Decatur. Dewey was born on August 1, 1941 in Shelby County, IL, the son of LaDena R. Sharp. He proudly served in the United States Navy until his honorable discharge in 1964. Dewey married Judith Stephens on July 31, 1965. He retired from Caterpillar Tractor Co. in 1994 after 30 years of service. He also worked on the farm for Byron and Robert Brown for over 20 years. Dewey was a hardworking man. Dewey is survived by his wife: Judith Sharp of Blue Mound, IL; children: Melody A. Sharp of Macon, IL and Dewey D. Sharp II and his wife Tracy of Stonington, IL; six beautiful granddaughters: Morgan, Courtney, Mckenzie, Lily, Marley and Zoe; good friends: Phillip Brown of Boody, IL and Alan Thomas of Olney, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Cancer Care Center of Decatur, Dr. Wade and all the wonderful girls who took care of Dewey.
