Delores M. Knaus Obituary (1930 - 2015)

Delores M. Knaus 84, of Decatur, IL passed away at 8:55 a.m., Sunday June 21, 2015, in McKinley Court Nursing Home. A service to celebrate Delores's life will be held graveside at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, June 27, 2015, in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Bethany, IL with Pastor Ron Howerton officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning at the Oak Grove Baptist Church until service time. Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Delores was born July 13, 1930 in Springfield, IL the daughter of John and Katherine (Vermel) Jones. She married John Knaus on February 4, 1950. She was a homemaker and had many talents in doing crafts, including making feather flowers and porcelain dolls. She also made and sold candies formerly supplying Del's Popcorn Shoppe with her treats. Surviving is her husband: John of Decatur; sons: Robert Knaus and his wife Diane of Belleville, Richard Knaus and his wife Julie of Harristown, Randall Knaus and his wife Meredith of Las Vegas, NV, and Edward Knaus and his wife Kimberly of Sullivan; sister: Maxine Benzing and her husband Sam of Chicago; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and eleven brothers and sisters.
