David L Engle Sr. Obituary (1948 - 2013)

David L. Engle Sr., 64 of Bingham/Decatur passed away at 5:15 a.m., February 18, 2013 in Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO. A service to celebrate David's life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 22, 2013 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery, Long Creek with full military honors provided by the Macon County Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com. David was born September 6, 1948 in Decatur, IL the son of Vaun and Gladys (Hutson) Engle. He married Cheri Binger on September 14, 1974. He retired in 1998 from Caterpillar where he operated a paint booth. He also owned and operated Engle's Roofing and Construction. David enjoyed the woods. He loved fishing and hunting. David also had a very giving heart. He would go out of his way to help anyone in need. At his death he shared his body as a donor so others could find a better quality of life. Surviving are his children: Tasha Engle of Decatur, David Engle Jr. and his fianc Haley of Nokomis, Deana Clark and her husband Dustin of Blue Mound, Dana Powell and her husband Eric of Oakland City, IN, Dawn Rosenberger and her husband Mike of Wapella, Bobby Howse of Mt. Pulaski, and Denise Porter and her husband Bret of Shelbyville; brother: Jim Engle and his wife Janet of Long Creek; sisters: Sue Adamcryk of Cushing, TX and Gloria Dueling of Naples, FL; also surviving are his nineteen grandchildren.
