Danny Joe Lowe Sr. Obituary (1948 - 2013)

Danny Joe Lowe Sr. 65, of Harristown, passed away at 5:58 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2013, in Decatur Memorial Hospital. A service to celebrate Danny's life will be held at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at the Camp Wilson Foursquare Church, 7570 W. Main Street, Harristown, IL. The family will begin receiving friends for a time of visitation at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday morning at the church until service time. Burial will be in the Harristown Township Cemetery. Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com. Danny was born May 12, 1948, in Decatur the son of George Thomas and Pearl (Coffee) Lowe. He married Glenda Cheryl Wright on November 16, 1965. He worked as a core maker for Wagner Casting Company in Decatur until his retirement. After his retirement he went to work for Kelly Construction as a millwright. Danny was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Fan and enjoyed deer hunting. Surviving is his wife: Glenda "Cheryl" of Harristown; sons: Danny J Lowe Jr. and his wife Angie of Decatur and Thomas R. Lowe of Harristown; brothers: Donald Lowe and his wife Sandy of Harristown and Steve Lowe and his wife Sherry of Decatur; sister: Betty Meador and her husband Lisle of Decatur; two granddaughters: Miranda R. Lowe and Danielle M. Lowe; grandson: Wyatt J. Lowe. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and two sisters.
