Clarence "Dude" Delano Matherly Obituary (1929 - 2015)

Clarence "Dude" Delano Matherly, 86, of Decatur passed away on Friday (Nov. 27, 2015) in his home surrounded by his family. A service to celebrate and honor his life will be held at 1:00 p.m on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time. He will be laid to rest next to his wife at Graceland Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials can be made to Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois. Clarence was born on September 8, 1929 in Nancy, KY the son of William E. and Lillie (Meece) Matherly. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He married Yvonne "Bonnie" Edwards on March 15, 1952. Clarence was a truck driver for Carl Hughes Jr. Lumber Yard as well as A&M Castle. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #279 and the Moose Lodge. He was loved by his children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Surviving are his three daughters: Cindy (Skip) Bachstein of Long Creek, IL; Cathy (Kevin Sharp) Parker of Harristown, IL; Connie Dee Matherly of Decatur, IL; four grandchildren: Tracie (Eddie) Hart of Mt. Zion, IL; Criston D. Matherly of Chicago, IL; Tara Bachstein of Decatur, IL; Jessica (Neil) Goodwin of Decatur,IL; three great-grandchildren: Gregory Hart, Nathan Hart and Jayden Goodwin; one brother: Charles (Barb) Matherly of Decatur, IL; one sister: Emma Farr of Decatur, IL; two sister-in-law's: Jean and Marge; and numerous nieces and nephews.
