Carolene June Reed Obituary (1930 - 2021)

Carolene June Reed 90, of Decatur, IL passed away at 12:40 p.m., Monday, February 15, 2021 in her residence. A private family service will be on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery, Long Creek. Carolene was born September 13, 1930, in Deland, IL the daughter of Arthur and Fern (Chaney) Anderson. She married William Leroy Jacobs in 1948. He preceded her in death. She later married Richard Reed in 1976. He preceded her in death in 2005. Carolene had worked doing many things including working as a server for Howard's Restaurant. She ended her working career with retirement from Lincoln Labs. Carolene was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She enjoyed many activities including her TOPS group, Red Hat Society, and the Skyline Bunco group. Carolene also enjoyed doing crosswords, reading, and having fun with her many friends. Surviving are her daughters: Carolyn Bracelin of Ruskin, FL and Marjorie Johns (Mike) of Highland, AR; sons: Steven Jacobs (Debbie) of Rochester, IL and David Jacobs (Debbi) of Elwin, IL; sister: Ruth Ann Foster of Tolono, IL; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive. Carolene was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, two sister and one brother.
