Brice E Hallam Obituary (1932 - 2017)

Brice E. Hallam, 85, of Macon, IL passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Decatur Memorial Hospital while surrounded by his family following a brief illness. A service to honor and celebrate Brices life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Macon United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Macon. He will be laid to rest in South Macon Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Macon United Methodist Church or Theatre 7. Brice was born on April 7, 1932 in Eureka, IL, the eldest son of Melwyn and Alalia (Nichols) Hallam. He served two years in the United States Army. Brice married Lorraine Schieber in Eureka, IL on January 23, 1955. He attended Brown Business School in Peoria, IL and retired from ADM where he worked as the grain elevator manager in Macon. Brice was a member of the Macon United Methodist Church, Land of Lincoln Model A Club and the Central Illinois Vintage Car Club. Brice loved spending time with his family, St. Louis Cardinals where he attended 40+ consecutive opening day games, bowling, playing cards and traveling. He is survived by his wife: Lorraine Hallam of Macon, IL; daughters: Dr. Debra (Leonard) Jenkins of Maryville, IL and Cheryl Laskowski of Decatur, IL; granddaughter: Katie (Tom) Biggs of Belleville, IL; two great grandsons: Tommie and Brice; He is also survived by two sisters, two brothers, two step sisters, one step brother and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father: Elmer Hoffer, sister: Virginia Tully and his son-in-law: Michael Laskowski.
