Bertha Fae Daugherty Obituary (1932 - 2014)

Bertha Fae Daugherty 82, passed from this life on June 5, 2014. Her work is finished and her reward is now realized as she entered into glory joining loved ones in the presence of Christ Jesus. A service to celebrate Bertha's life will be held at 2:00p.m., Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion, IL with Pastor Steve Devore officiating. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery, Long Creek. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday afternoon until service time. Bertha was born February 27, 1932, to McHenry and Lizzie Mae Bewley of Rineyville, KY. She was a graduate of Howe Valley High School in Hardin County, KY. She married her childhood sweetheart Roy E. Daugherty in 1950. Together they raised a family of four children, William Thomas Daugherty (wife Carol), Betty Ellen Orr, Robert Wayne Daugherty (wife Ann) and Ruth Ann Bailey. Bertha was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked as a housekeeper, receptionist, and school cook. She was a member of Tree of Life Christian Center in Sullivan, IL. She loved greatly and was greatly loved. Her daily prayers and blessings will be missed by many. She is survived by her children, seven grandchildren: Maria, Brad, Diane, Charlie, Matt, Laura, and Libby; great-grandchild: Magdalyn; siblings: Mary Ann Kephart (Bill), Frankie Maxine Daugherty (Kenneth), Nancy Yates (Virgil), Margaret Ross (Bob), Charles "Mac" Bewley (Barbara), Ruth Carter, Nina Kaelin (Donald). She was preceded in death by her twin sister: Betty Mae Ely, her husband, and her parents.
