Alyce Evelyn Belden Obituary (1931 - 2017)

Alyce Evelyn Belden, 85, of Decatur, IL left this world to meet her Lord at 12:28 a.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Symphony of Decatur. A service to honor and celebrate Alyce's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Dawson & Wikoff North Chapel. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Alyce will be laid to rest at 2:30 p.m. on Friday in Maplewood Cemetery, St. Elmo, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to DMH Hospice, American Cancer Society or one's own choice. Alyce was born on April 23, 1931 in Oakwood, IL, the daughter of G.A. and Rosa Mae (Sampson) Belden. She was the youngest of 10 children. She worked at Illinois Power for over 20 years. Alyce was a devout CUBS fan. She walked for several years at the mall with her friends and could be seen walking in other areas of town as well, making frequent visits to Krekel's North. She enjoyed bowling and was inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir for many years. Alyce is survived by one brother: Billy Belden of Columbia, MO and over 100 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and 8 siblings.
