Albert L. Allen Obituary (1935 - 2016)

Albert L. Allen, 80, of Decatur passed away on Saturday, May 07, 2016 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Albert was born on August 8, 1935 in Geneva, N.Y. the son of Albert Edward and Gertrude (Goodman) Allen. He married Darlene Earl on October 11, 1970. Albert was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He worked for Caterpillar as a machinist and also worked as an individual contract hauler for the Herald & Review for 42 years. Albert enjoyed watching all professional sports in his spare time and going to his grandchildren's games. Surviving is his wife of 45 years, Darlene; daughter: Tina Francisco and her husband Ron of Pana, IL; son: David Allen and his wife Robin of Springfield, IL; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marjorie. Albert's wishes for cremation will be arranged by Dawson & Wikoff North Chapel. Private family services will be held at a later date with his final resting place at Graceland Cemetery.
