Agnes Lombardo Obituary (1924 - 2016)

Agnes Lombardo 92, of Decatur, IL passed away at 6:45 p.m., Wednesday, August 24, 2016, in Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur. A memorial service to celebrate Agnes' life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2016, in GT Church with Pastor Matt Samuels officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Agnes was born January 31, 1924, in Springfield, IL the daughter of Frank and Mariana (Lombardo) Disclafani. She married Samuel J. Lombardo on July 8, 1950, in New York City, NY. He preceded her in death on October 15, 2014. Agnes was a member of GT Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and bunco. She was a member of the Keenagers Bible Study along with her husband at the church. Agnes was known for her beautiful handwriting and loved to correspond to her friends and family via letters. Surviving are her children: Shevet "Joe" Lombardo and his wife Barbara of Latham, IL and Celeste Kohlbecker and her husband Barry of Decatur; grandchildren: Stephen Bruce Lombardo of San Antonio, TX, Nicole R. Kohlbecker of Chicago, and Rachel L. Kohlbecker of Bloomington, IL; brothers: Sam Disclafani of West Palm Beach, FL and Lenny Disclafani and his wife Eilleen of Elmont, NY; sisters: Sadie Aquila of Ocala, FL and Camilla Pecchillo of Centereach, NY. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son: George Lombardo and twin granddaughters: Jody Marie and Amy Lombardo.
