Ronald G. Aubert 79, of Dalton City, IL passed away 6:46 pm, on Sunday, October 6, 2019, in St. Mary’s Hospital Emergency Room.
A service to honor Ron’s life will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 12, 2019, at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Burial will be in North Fork Cemetery, Decatur, IL with military honors by the Macon County Honor Guard and the US Navy Honors Team. The family will receive friends for visitation Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A Masonic service will take place at 8:00 p.m., Friday evening. Ron was born a twin on February 8, 1940, in Decatur, IL the son of William L. and Hazel Mae (Gereau) Aubert. He served in the US Navy along with his twin brother on the USS Keppler. He began his work career for Longbons Roofing and Sheet Metal and went on to work for Bodine Sewer Service. He was a founder and co-owner of PCM, Decatur. He married Betty L. Johnstone on November 22, 1971. Ron was a member of the Argenta Masonic Lodge #871.
Surviving are his wife: Betty of Dalton City; children: Rhonda McCoskey of Macon, Jeff (Debbie) Aubert of Prescott, AZ, Hope (Dale) Bales of Decatur, Tom Johnstone of Mt. Zion, Terry (Dani) Johnstone of Decatur and Tim (Jamie) Aubert of Mt. Zion; siblings: Beverly (Bill) Lollie of Willow Park, TX, Billie Clifton of Decatur, Les (Patty) Aubert of Mt. Zion, Linda Cummins of Decatur, and Clive Aubert of Springfield, IL; sister in law: Marlene Auburn, of Forsyth, IL; eighteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother Don, brothers: Frank Aubert and Larry Aubert; nephews: Philip Aubert and Shelby Clifton; brothers-in-law: Bob Clifton and Dave Cummins and his sister-in-law: Anita Aubert.
Ron loved rising early and having coffee with his many coffee buddies. He was known as a perfectionist and was able to do and fix anything. His talents were many and he gladly helped family and friends when he was needed. Ron enjoyed old classic cars and trucks and restoring them to their glory days with his best friends: Mike Severns and Mike Bodine and others. He was kind and giving and even in death he kept on giving as an organ and tissue donor. Ron was loved and we were blessed to have him in our lives. He joked and made us smile.
