Obituary for Montelle K Denson

Montelle K. Denson 75, of Mt. Zion, IL, passed away at 2:40 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2019, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
The family will gather to celebrate Monte’s life on Thursday, March 14, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com.
Monte was born October 21, 1943, in Decatur, IL the son of Karl C. and Francis (Nixon) Denson. He was the retired owner of Illinois Auto Recovery. Monte enjoyed automobiles and restoring old cars and attending car shows. His greatest passion was spending time with family especially his grandchildren. He married Mary K. Anderson on May 17, 1969.
Surviving are his wife: Mary of Mt. Zion; son: Charlie Denson (Carol) of Mt. Zion; daughters: Holli Mackling (Dave) of Concord, NC, Heidi Ford (Ben) of Mt. Zion, and Dawn Hopkins (Steve) of Dayton, OH; sister: Toby Gillespie (Walt) of Madison, AL; grandchildren: Katie Addison (Josh), Kylie Newhook (Chris), Lauren Mackling, Sophie Mackling, Carson Mackling, Zoey Stalets, Alexis Stalets, Caden Ford, Jenny Hopkins, Elizabeth Hopkins, Nick Hopkins, and Allison Hopkins; two great-grandchildren also survive.
Monte was preceded in death by his parents.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Decatur Memorial Hospital and to Drs. Ashu and Sheth for all their care and compassion.
