Michael Lee Sullens Sr Obituary (1945 - 2019)

Michael "Mike" Lee Sullens Sr. 73, of Foley, Alabama formerly of Mt. Zion, IL passed away July 18, 2019, in Robertsdale Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. The family will host a celebration of life honoring Mike on Saturday, August 17, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 Noon at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. A graveside service will be at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, August 17, 2019, at Mt Zion Township Cemetery with military honors provided by the Macon County Honor Guard and the US Army Honors Team. In lieu of flowers. the family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com. Mike was born August 31, 1945, in Salem, IL the son of Relza and Ruby (Miller) Sullens. He served in the US Army. He married Linda L. Lange on February 14, 1970. Mike retired in 2001 as a Supervisor for Caterpillar. He was a former member of the UAW#751. Mike enjoyed fishing, riding Harley Davidson motorcycles with his wife, and watching college basketball, cheering on the Illini. Surviving are his wife: Linda of Foley, AL; sons: Michael Sullens Jr (Stacy) of Highland, IL and Harold Sullens (Divina) of Mt. Zion; sisters: Betty Rubin (Wayne) of Florida and Rita Ballance (Jerry) of Salem, IL; grandchildren: Katie, Nathan, Hannah, Lucas, and Kylie. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister: Virginia Foltz.
