Maynard S. “Steve” Tuttle 77, of Mt. Zion, IL passed away at 9:35 p.m., Monday, July 8, 2019, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, July 12, 2019, at Mt. Zion Township Cemetery with military honors provided by the Macon County Honor Guard and the US Navy Honors Team. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Friday morning until 1:00 p.m. at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com.

Maynard was born May 27, 1942, in Decatur, IL the son of Charles Maynard and Norma Ruth (Stevens) Tuttle. He married Dorry A. Weiss on August 7, 1965. Maynard served in the US Navy and was a Vietnam War veteran. He retired after forty-three years as a supervisor for Super Value Grocers. Maynard was a member of the Land of Lincoln Plymouth Club, the American Legion Post #105 and the VFW. He enjoyed bowling, woodworking, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers and St. Louis Cardinals.

Surviving are his wife: Dorry of Mt. Zion; son: Troy Tuttle of Dalton City; grandson: Travist Tuttle of Dalton City; brother: Bill Tuttle (Darla) of Long Creek; sister: Judy Kramer (OK) of Pope County, IL; brother-in-law: Robert Phebus (Suzie); special nieces and nephews also survive along with his loving Black Labrador Retriever: Tonto.

Maynard was preceded in death by his parents; son: Darrin; daughter-in-law: Kerrie and his sister: Karen.
