Obituary for Helen May Hall

Helen May Hall, 89, of Decatur, IL passed away on Monday, July 8, 2019 in Sherman, IL.
A service to honor and celebrate Helen’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2019 at Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service. Helen will be laid to rest at Hall Cemetery, Blue Mound. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
Helen was born on October 8, 1929 in Hamburg, NY, the daughter of Horace and Hazel (Dudley) Lapp. She married Leonard Jacob Hall on May 3, 1969 in Lake City, IL. He preceded her in death on August 28, 1989. Helen was a member and secretary for over 40 years at Riverside Baptist Church where she started the Awana program. She was a TOPS member and enjoyed bowling with her ladies league. Helen loved watching her granddaughters perform and play sports and she loved singing.
Helen is survived by her daughter: Rebecca Cunningham of Riverton, IL; brother: Richard “Dick” Lapp of Hudson, FL; sister: Dorothy Jones of Brockport, NY; granddaughters: Melanie Clark and Lillian Cunningham both of Riverton, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother: George Lapp and her sister: Betty Wellard.
