Delores A. Ashworth Obituary (1930 - 2018)

Delores A. Ashworth 87, of Decatur, IL passed away at 7:25 p.m., Saturday, June 9, 2018, in her residence. A service to celebrate Delores's life will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10 :00 a.m., Saturday until service time. Memorials may be made to the Macon County Honor Guard or American Diabetes Association. She married Harry Ashworth on June 14, 1953. He preceded her in death on March 5, 2008. She retired from Decatur Public School District #61 as an elementary school teacher. She was a member of the DAR and enjoyed playing bridge. Surviving are her children: Janet Boomer (Daniel) of Decatur, Jeffrey Ashworth of Decatur, and James "Jim" Ashworth (Karen) of Sterling, VA; sisters: Evelyn Lauer of Springfield, and Carol Jo Webster (Jack) of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren: Kimberly Vanden Berg (Michael) of St. Louis, MO, Kristine Boomer of Decatur, Kathryn "Katie" Boomer of Wichita, KS, Travis Ashworth of Harristown, Jenna Leah Ashworth of Sterling, VA, Jacob Ross Ashworth of Sterling, VA and Jessica Lynn Ashworth of Sterling, VA; three great-grandchildren also survive. Delores was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
